VIBE have won a handful of GOLD prizes at the recent Mobile Electronics News awards. These prestigious industry awards are voted for by the UK dealer network and it is an honour to have done so well.

The VIBE R8 took the top award as Demo Car of the Year – a fantastic prize for our first true attempt at an SQ install.

A gold award was also awarded to VIBE for Product Innovation in recognition of the Class GH amplifiers. VIBE are very proud to win this award as it shows that we are at the cutting edge of product design and manufacture.

VIBE products won individual awards too, the VIBE CBR12 Active EVO took gold in the “Best Powered Bass Box” class while the Slick A2 amplifier took the silver award for “Best budget 2 channel amplifier” an excellent achievement for the entry level VIBE product range.

Sales representative Jonathan Buttery won the prestigious Rep of the year award – an excellent accolade for Jonathan who has certainly proven to be worth his weight in gold to the company.

A final gold award was awarded to the VIBE marketing campaign “Feel the difference...” which rounded off an excellent evening for the company.

The VIBE Space 12 subwoofer recently took first place in the Max Power mega subwoofer test much to our delight. With a comprehensive five out of five victory in every category it was a clear winner against tough competition which included MTX, Kicker, Hifonics, Alpine, Clarion, JL and Fusion.

VIBE are always at the cutting edge of audio engineering and once again they have came up with a totally unique product in the shape of the Slick subwoofers.

The Slick subwoofers are the result of extensive research by the VIBE R&D team who have successfully created a woofer which not only sounds great but stands out from the crowd too.

The one piece inverted rubber surround and gasket is a unique feature on the Slick range and the rubberised finish on the one piece Injection Moulded Polypropylene cone is in keeping with the rest of the Slick family. There are three subwoofers to choose from in the range - the S10, S12 and S15 - and as their names suggest they have a diameter of 10, 12 and 15 inches respectively.

Underneath the surface you will find multi layer, heavy duty copper voice coils, dual progressive Conex spiders which keep the movement 100% lateral and spring loaded nickel plated terminals - no expense has been spared in the creation of this product.

Flipping a subwoofer over and having a look at the basket and magnet is usually an easy way to spot its quality. Turn over one of these and you will find a massive magnet encased in a chunky basket which is finished in the same rubberised texture as the front of the subwoofer - once again VIBE's painstaking attention to detail can be seen.

With the addition of the Slick subwoofers, enthusiasts can now build a full install with Slick speakers, amplifiers and subwoofers.

Vibe are proud to announce another industry first - bass amplifiers utilising Class GH technology.

What is Class GH? Class GH is a hybrid of both Class G and Class H. Class G operation involves changing the power supply voltage from a lower level to a higher level when larger output swings are required. This involves a single class AB output stage that is connected to two power supply rails by a diode, or a transistor switch. Using two power supplies improves efficiency enough to allow significantly more power when compared to traditional Class AB or Class D amplifiers. Class G technology is becoming more common in professional recording studios. Class H operation takes the G design one step further and actually modulates the higher power supply voltage by the input signal. This allows the power supply to track the audio input and provide just enough voltage for optimum operation of the output devices.

VIBE BlackBox BASS Hybrid Class GH amplifiers combine the best of both these new technologies to produce an amplifier that has all the efficiency benefits of a Class D amplifier with the smooth sound of a Class AB amplifier. Without technical jargon this means that sound quality blows away Class D amplifiers combined with a 73% efficiency compared to 50% efficiency of Class AB.

There are two mono block amplifiers in the Bass range - the BlackBox Bass 4 which offers 900w RMS at 2 ohms and the BlackBox BASS 5 which offers a whopping 1500 watts at 2 ohm.

The BlackBox BASS amplifiers also offer you the option of linking two of these units together which would give you a true 3000w RMS at 2ohm, perfect if you're interested in SPL.

The end of October is awards time for the industry, CAR magazine and Creative Media held the annual ICE awards at the Oxford Belfry.

Rob Hammond was the host for the evening, presenting awards for the industry. This year has been very successful for Midbass and VIBE, with plenty of new and enhanced product lines and the awards showed that the extra effort was worth it.

The VIBE Dredd won Gold for the Best Demo Car which was the icing on the cake for the VIBE R&D team with the effort they put into building the mighty Dredd.

Our Active enclosures did well too, with the CBR10 EVO Active winning Gold closely followed by our sister brand FLI's 10 Active winning Silver, and the CBR 12 EVO Active winning Gold for the higher priced categories.

VIBE and FLI did well in the amplifier categories too, with awards for several of our entry level and top end products. Not only that but our subwoofers and speakers also did well picking up trophies in their relevant classes making sure that we left with more awards then ever before.

Midbass, VIBE and FLI would like to thank Car Audio Retailer and the ICE awards team, and everyone who voted for our products. This is only the start, with constant research and development of existing and new products and ideas, next year will be even better!
